Meet The Founder

Lukas Romano — Visionary. Student. Creator.

At just 18 years old, Lukas Romano is helping build something bigger than clothing — a Canadian family-led movement rooted in creativity, mentorship, and mental health.

A first-year student at York University studying Communication & Media with a focus in Education, Lukas blends storytelling, design, and purpose. Born and raised in Canada, he always dreamed of launching a brand that meant something — one that reflected authenticity, resilience, and national pride.

Living with ADHD and anxiety, Lukas understands firsthand the challenges many young Canadians face. With his mom as his first mentor, he learned to turn those struggles into strengths — fueling the early spark behind MNTR (Made North Threads).

Today, Lukas is one of three MNTR co-founders, working alongside his sisters, Sophia and Milla, to create meaningful programs for youth, including:

Tutoring & academic support
School talks & youth workshops
Mentorship initiatives
Future scholarships for students with ADHD, learning disabilities, or mental health challenges
And a soon-to-launch mentorship-based digital platform

Sophia Romano — Organizer. Leader. Builder.

Sophia Romano is the strategic backbone of MNTR — the co-founder who brings structure, clarity, and direction to the family-led mission. With a natural ability to plan, organize, and lead, she ensures that every MNTR initiative—from apparel to tutoring to youth programs—is executed with purpose and professionalism.

Sophia’s strength lies in turning big ideas into real, tangible impact. She helps guide MNTR’s tutoring services, school talks, mentorship initiatives, and the development of the future MNTR app, making sure the brand stays aligned with its vision to support youth across Canada.

Her leadership brings balance to the creative energy of MNTR. Thoughtful, determined, and detail-focused, Sophia is a builder at heart—helping transform MNTR from a simple idea into a growing movement rooted in education, empowerment, and community.

Milla Romano — Artist. Storyteller. Creative Force.

Milla Romano is the artistic soul of MNTR. As a co-founder, she plays a key role in shaping the brand’s visual identity, design direction, and storytelling—bringing youth perspective, colour, and authenticity into everything MNTR creates.

With a natural artistic eye and a passion for expression, Milla helps develop apparel concepts, social visuals, content ideas, and the creative energy behind MNTR’s mental health and mentorship message. Her ability to visualize emotion and translate it into design helps MNTR feel relatable, warm, and real.

Milla’s creativity bridges art and impact. She ensures the brand speaks to young people in a way that feels honest, inclusive, and inspiring—adding heart and imagination to MNTR’s growing mission.
